Ambassador agreement

The agreement between you and Hoolam when you are a Hoolam ambassador: how you earn, how and when you are paid, your term, and the rules that keep the programme fair and safe.

In short

  • You bring new sellers and buyers to Hoolam with your link. When their orders are complete, you earn a share of what Hoolam makes on them.
  • You are paid every month, to a bank account in your own name, once you are owed at least the minimum payout. When you end, you are paid whatever you are owed.
  • Your term is 3, 6 or 12 months and renews by itself. You can switch or end it at any time.
  • Never collect money for Hoolam, never ask anyone for a PIN, OTP or password, and never pretend to be Hoolam staff.
  • Fake orders, your own orders and anything that looks like cheating don't earn, and can end your place in the programme.

Who this agreement is between

This agreement is between you and HOOLAM DIGITAL PLATFORM LTD (RC 9919417), which runs Hoolam. It adds to our Terms of service, our Acceptable use rules and our Privacy policy, which also apply to you. If anything here disagrees with them, this agreement applies to your ambassador work.

You are an independent person promoting Hoolam. You are not our employee, agent or partner, and you can't make promises or sign anything for Hoolam.

Joining

You apply on our website or in our WhatsApp chat, and we decide whether to approve you. We don't have to give a reason. Once approved, you finish setting up in WhatsApp: you check your ID once (BVN or NIN), add a payout account in the same name as your ID, choose your term and choose your link name. You are active once every step is done.

You must be 18 or older, live in Nigeria, and use your own WhatsApp number, your own ID and your own bank account.

  • Your link is hoolam.com/a/your-name. The name is yours for good: nobody else can ever use it, even if you end. If we change it (for example, if it's unsuitable), your old link keeps working.
  • Someone becomes one of your people when they first come to Hoolam through your link, or type your link name when we ask “Did an ambassador send you?”.
  • Only people new to Hoolam count. Someone who has already used Hoolam can't be linked to you. Each person is linked to one ambassador only, for good, and you never earn from people another ambassador brings.
  • Your link page shows your first name, the area you chose and, if you add one, your photo. You can change or remove your photo at any time.

How you earn

  • Your share: a percentage of everything Hoolam earns (the Hoolam fee and the transaction fee) on each completed order of a seller or a buyer you brought. The current percentages are on hoolam.com/ambassadors and in your dashboard.
  • The seller bonus: a fixed amount once for each seller you bring, when they complete the number of orders shown on that page.
  • An order is complete when its money is released to the seller: the buyer is happy, or the time to report a problem has passed. Orders that are refunded or cancelled don't earn.
  • Your share and the bonus can change. Changes apply to orders completed after the change, never to money you have already earned. We can raise your own share on your page; your term length doesn't change your share.
  • You earn for as long as you are active. While you are paused, or after you end, new orders from your people don't earn.

Checks and earnings on hold

To keep the programme fair, an earning is held for our team to check when something looks wrong, for example: you are the buyer or seller in the order; the person you brought has the same ID or bank account as you; or the buyer and seller in the order look like the same person. Our team approves a held earning (it then counts) or cancels it, and your dashboard shows the reason.

Getting paid

  • We pay once a month, on the payout day shown in your dashboard, for everything you earned up to the end of the month before.
  • If you are owed less than the minimum payout, it waits for the next month. When you end, you are paid whatever you are owed.
  • We pay only to your payout account on Hoolam, which must be in the same name as your ID. Each payment comes with a reference, and we tell you on WhatsApp.
  • You are responsible for any tax on what you earn.

Your term

You choose 3, 6 or 12 months. Before your term ends we remind you on WhatsApp; if you do nothing, it renews on the same term. You can switch to another term (it starts from your next term) or end at any time from WhatsApp or your dashboard.

The rules

  • Never collect money for Hoolam or for an order. All money goes through Hoolam only.
  • Never ask anyone for a PIN, OTP, password or their BVN or NIN.
  • Don't pretend to be Hoolam staff, or promise things Hoolam doesn't do.
  • Don't spam, buy fake followers or clicks, or post your link where it isn't welcome.
  • Don't create orders, accounts or people just to earn.
  • Use our name and logo only as we provide them, to promote Hoolam honestly.

Pausing and ending

We can pause your account while we look into a problem, or end it if you break this agreement or our other terms. We tell you on WhatsApp. If you broke the rules, earnings from the orders involved don't count; everything else you are owed is paid.

We may also change or close the programme. If we do, we tell you at least 14 days before, and pay everything you have earned up to then.

Your information

We use what you give us in your application, your ID check result and your payout account to run the programme and pay you. Our Privacy policy explains what we keep, what the people you bring and the public can see, and your rights.
